The harvest season that occurs throughout August and September has the potential to create an overstock that could disrupt the distribution and availability of soybean. Therefore, government intervention is needed to ensure that local soybean harvests can be purchased at fair prices, thereby creating a conducive market condition.

In order to support local soybean farming, PT FKS Multi Agro Tbk, in collaboration with the National Food Agency (NFA), has purchased 9,000 kg of local soybeans from the Karya Bakti Farmers Group in Kayen District, Pati Regency, Central Java. This action is taken in order to support National Food Agency's program to facilitate the distribution of food products. This program is also carried out collectively by involving other soybean businesses under the Indonesian Soybean Association (Asosiasi Kedelai Indonesia/AKINDO). In addition, the Central Java Provincial Government, Gakoptindo, and KOPTI also take part in the success of this program.

Sucipto, as the chairman of the Karya Bakti Farmers Group, thanks FKS Multi Agro, NFA, and other related parties for this program. "We are very happy because we can sell the soybean that later would be distributed to the tofu and tempeh maker across Java. This certainly can improve the economy and welfare of the farmers in our group," Sucipto added.

Tjung Hen Sen, the Director of FKS Multi Agro, says that FKS Multi Agro has been consistent with similar program since 2022 as a commitment to realizing national food security. "A healthy and conducive soybean trading and distribution condition is a goal that we want to achieve together with NFA,” he added.
